Ayodhya gets ready to welcome PM Modi with floral decorations and cultural events


Ayodhya, the holy city of Lord Ram, is gearing up for a historic visit by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 30. The city is being adorned with flowers, lights, murals and thematic ornamental columns to mark the occasion. PM Modi will inaugurate the redeveloped railway station and the new airport in Ayodhya, ahead of the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple on January 22.

PM Modi to flag off Vande Bharat Express train and address public meeting

PM Modi will arrive in Ayodhya on Thursday morning and will flag off the Vande Bharat Express train, which will connect the city with Delhi and other major destinations. The train will have state-of-the-art facilities and will reduce the travel time between Ayodhya and Delhi to six hours.

The PM will also address a public meeting at the ground next to the airport, where he will highlight the development works done by the central and state governments in Ayodhya. He will also likely oversee the progress of the Ram temple construction, which is expected to be completed by 2025.

Ayodhya airport and railway station to boost tourism and connectivity

The Ayodhya airport, which has been named after Lord Ram’s father King Dasharatha, will be the first international airport in the Purvanchal region of Uttar Pradesh. The airport will have a capacity to handle 1,000 passengers per hour and will cater to domestic and international flights. The airport will also have a Ramayana gallery, a meditation centre, a Ram Katha museum and a Ram Darbar.

The Ayodhya railway station, which has been redeveloped at a cost of Rs 104 crore, will have a grand facade inspired by the Ram temple. The station will have modern amenities such as escalators, lifts, CCTV cameras, waiting rooms, food courts and parking facilities. The station will also have a Ramayana circuit, a Ram Lila stage and a Ram Darshan gallery.

Ayodhya to witness cultural events and bhajans ahead of Ram temple consecration

Ayodhya is also preparing for the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple, which will take place on January 22. The ceremony will be attended by President Ram Nath Kovind, PM Modi, Chief Justice of India N V Ramana, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and other dignitaries. The ceremony will be telecast live on various channels and platforms.

To create a festive atmosphere in the city, the Uttar Pradesh government has planned to organise cultural events and bhajans at different places in Ayodhya. The government has also instructed the local administration to decorate the city with the grandeur of Treta Yug, the era of Lord Ram. The government has also arranged for accommodation, security and sanitation for the visitors, who are expected to throng the city after the ceremony.
