Josh Seiter, who appeared on season 11 of “The Bachelorette” in 2015, has passed away at the age of 36. His family confirmed the tragic news on his Instagram account on Monday, August 28, 2023.
Seiter’s Family Shares Heartbreaking Statement
In a statement posted on Seiter’s Instagram page, his family wrote:
The family did not reveal the cause of death, but they urged anyone who is experiencing a mental health crisis to reach out for help and provided the number for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
Seiter Opened Up About His Mental Health Struggles
Seiter, who was a law graduate and an exotic dancer, had been vocal about his mental health struggles on social media. He had previously revealed that he was diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), bipolar depression, and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). He also said that he was a suicide attempt survivor and that he battled “feelings of worthlessness on a daily basis.”
Just four days before his death, he posted a photo of himself smiling with the caption: “Surviving depression and anxiety one day at a time with a smile.”
He also shared his journey of coming out as bisexual earlier this year and finding love with a man named David, whom he got engaged to in June. He told TV Shows Ace in May that he was “excited to finally be in a healthy relationship” after going through several breakups and controversies.
Seiter Was Eliminated on the First Night of ‘The Bachelorette’
Seiter was one of the 25 men who competed for the love of Kaitlyn Bristowe on season 11 of “The Bachelorette.” However, he was eliminated on the first night after failing to impress her with his shirtless introduction and his ego-driven remarks.
He later admitted that he went on the show for fame, not love, and that he was not attracted to Bristowe. He also claimed that he was fed lines by the producers and that he regretted his appearance on the show.
He went on to date other reality TV stars, such as Clare Crawley from “The Bachelor” and Yolanda Leak from “90 Day Fiancé.” He also joined OnlyFans and posted explicit content for his fans.
