A Surprise Proposal
Brian Austin Green and Sharna Burgess are officially engaged after three years of dating. The couple announced the happy news on Friday, September 22, 2023, on their iHeart radio podcast, Oldish. They revealed that Green popped the question two months ago, during a surprise birthday party that Burgess threw for him in June.
Burgess, 38, said that she had no idea that Green was planning to propose and that he did it in the most perfect and beautiful way. Green, 50, explained that he wanted to involve his children in the proposal, as they are a part of everything. He shares sons Noah, 10, Bodhi, 9, and Journey, 7, with his ex-wife Megan Fox, and son Kassius, 21, with his ex-girlfriend Vanessa Marcil.
Green said that he told Burgess that he had something to show her upstairs, and led her to their bedroom, where he called in his kids. His youngest son, Journey, held a red Cartier box, which Green took from him and opened. He then asked Burgess, “Will you spend the rest of your life with us?” Burgess said that she was speechless and that she said yes without hesitation.
A New Chapter
The couple also shared their engagement announcement on Instagram, where Burgess posted a video of Noah, Bodhi, Journey, and their 2-year-old son Zane, whom they welcomed in June 2022, putting their hands onto Green’s hand. Burgess added her hand last, showing off her diamond ring. She captioned the video, “Our latest chapter.”
Burgess and Green met in 2020, when they were both contestants on Dancing with the Stars. They sparked romance rumors after they were spotted on a PDA-filled Hawaiian vacation in December 2020. They confirmed their relationship in January 2021, and have been inseparable ever since. They have also been open about their love and support for each other on social media and in interviews.
Green said that he felt that his engagement to Burgess was the start of the “second half” of his life, and that he was excited for their future together. He also praised Burgess for being an amazing partner and mother, and for bringing joy and happiness to his life. Burgess said that she felt the same way, and that she was grateful for finding her soulmate in Green.

Some of the celebrities who commented on their Instagram posts included Randy Spelling, Tori Spelling, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Jason Priestley, and Tiffani Thiessen, who all starred with Green on the hit show 90210.
