Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished the nation on the occasion of the New Year on Friday and expressed his hope that the country will march ahead with renewed energy and work harder to fulfil the dreams of the freedom fighters.
PM Modi shares clip of Mann ki Baat
In a tweet, PM Modi said, “Happy 2022! May this year bring abundance of joy and good health in everyone’s lives. May we keep scaling new heights of progress and prosperity, and work even harder to fulfil the dreams of our great freedom fighters.” He also shared a clip of the recent episode of ‘Mann ki Baat’, his monthly radio broadcast, in which he had extended his wishes to the people in the new year.
In the clip, PM Modi had said that the year 2022 will mark the 75th anniversary of India’s independence and urged the citizens to celebrate it with pride and enthusiasm. He had also said that the year 2022 will be a year of opportunities and possibilities for the youth of the country and asked them to take up new challenges and innovations.
PM Modi highlights achievements of 2021
PM Modi had also highlighted the achievements of the year 2021 in his radio address and said that the country had overcome many difficulties and challenges due to the collective efforts of the people and the government. He had mentioned the successful vaccination drive against COVID-19, the economic recovery, the reforms in various sectors, the infrastructural development, the sports achievements, the cultural events, and the global recognition of India’s soft power.
He had also praised the farmers, the health workers, the security forces, the scientists, the teachers, the students, the artists, the sportspersons, and the common people for their contributions and sacrifices in the year 2021. He had said that the country had shown its resilience and strength in the face of the pandemic and other adversities.
PM Modi appeals for unity and harmony
PM Modi had also appealed for unity and harmony among the people of the country and said that the diversity of India is its strength and beauty. He had said that the country should move forward with the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ and ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas’. He had also urged the people to follow the COVID-19 protocols and guidelines and take preventive measures to avoid the spread of the virus.
He had also asked the people to remember the sacrifices and the struggles of the freedom fighters and the martyrs who had laid down their lives for the nation. He had said that the country should honour their legacy and work towards fulfilling their vision of a prosperous and powerful India.
