Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday asserted that his government has provided more employment opportunities in its 10-year tenure than the previous government did in the same period. He also highlighted the transparency and efficiency of the recruitment process under the BJP rule.
Modi distributes appointment letters to over one lakh youths
The Prime Minister digitally addressed the ‘Rozgar Mela’, a programme organised by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, where he handed over recruitment letters to government jobs to more than one lakh youngsters via video conference. He congratulated the new recruits and said they will play a vital role in the development of the country.
He said that the government has taken several steps to ensure that the recruitment process is fair, fast and merit-based. He said that the government has eliminated the role of middlemen and brokers who used to exploit the aspirants and delay the process. He said that the government has also introduced online tests, computer-based exams and common eligibility tests to make the process more convenient and accessible.
BJP has given 1.5 times more jobs than previous government, says Modi
The Prime Minister claimed that his government has given 1.5 times more jobs than the previous government did in 10 years. He said that the government has created employment opportunities in various sectors, such as infrastructure, railways, defence, space, agriculture, education, health and digital economy.
He said that the government has launched several schemes and initiatives to promote entrepreneurship, innovation and skill development among the youth. He cited the examples of Start-up India, Stand-up India, Atal Innovation Mission, PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana and PM Mudra Yojana. He said that the government has also provided tax benefits, financial assistance and mentorship to the start-ups and innovators.
He said that the government has allocated Rs 11 lakh crore as capital expenditure in the Interim Budget 2024-25 to increase the pace of development and create more jobs. He said that the government has also focused on improving the quality and quantity of education and research in the country. He said that the government has announced a fund of Rs 1 lakh crore for research and innovation under the National Research Foundation.
Modi lays foundation stone of Karmayogi Bhavan
On the occasion, the Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone of phase I of the integrated complex “Karmayogi Bhavan” in New Delhi. This complex will house the offices of the Department of Personnel and Training, the National Centre for Good Governance, the National Recruitment Agency and the Union Public Service Commission.
The Prime Minister said that the Karmayogi Bhavan will promote collaboration and synergy among various pillars of ‘Mission Karmayogi’, a comprehensive reform of the civil services. He said that the Mission Karmayogi aims to transform the government employees into efficient, effective and ethical public servants. He said that the Mission Karmayogi will also provide training, mentoring and capacity building to the government employees at all levels.
The Prime Minister said that the government is committed to empowering the youth and providing them with opportunities to contribute to the nation’s progress. He urged the new recruits to work with dedication, honesty and integrity for the welfare of the people and the country.
