Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth has been honoured Dadasaheb Phalke Award for 2020. Dadasaheb Phalke Award is for “Outstanding contribution to the growth and development to the Indian Cinemas”. It was first awarded in the year 1969 and the celebreties include Lata Mangeshkar, Shashi Kapoor, Dev Anand And last year it was awarded to Amitabh Bachchan for the year 2019.
Rajinikanth as an Actor, Producer, Screenwriter
Born in Marathi family, Shivaji Rao Gaekwad started his career as bus conductor in Bengaluru,Karnataka. Despite his poor condition, with the support from his elderly brother Mr.Sathyanarayana and his friend Rajbagadur, he shifted to Chennai to start his acting career. Earlier in his acting years, his role was antagonist in many films. Later, with his style and mannerisms Director K.Balachander gave him lead role in his movie.
From then on, the actor has given the string of blockbusters like mullum malarum, padikaathavan, Billa, Murattu Kaalai, Naan Sigappu Manithan, Baasha, Muthu, Thalapathi, Velaikkaran,Arunachalam, Padaiyaapa and so on..
Recently, the Actor was last seen in Darbar released in Jan 2020 which was huge hit. Currently Superstar is working on Annaatthae drirected by siva under kalanithi maaran’s Sun Pictures banner. The filmmakers planned to release the movie for Diwali on Nov 2,2021.
Rajini honoured with Dadasaheb Phalke Award
Previously Rajini has received many State awards, Filmfare awards, Padma Bhusan, Padma Vibushan and what not. And now He has been honoured Dadasaheb Phalke Award from the central Government. The Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Mr.Prakash Jawedkar tweeted ” Happy to announce Dadasaheb Phalke Award for 2020 to one of the greatest actor of Indian Cinema, Rajinikanth Ji.”
The actor also tweeted his heartfelt thanks to Mr.Narendra Modiji and Government of India.
